Edgar Wallace Mysteries: Volume 2
As you may be aware, it was brought to our attention that human error at BBC Resources had resulted in two of the five reels which make up the film ‘Attempt to Kill’ being transposed. This was a very unusual fault to occur and a first for one of our titles, however please be aware that this issue has now been resolved and all stock now being sold on our website includes the corrected disc. Should you have purchased a copy from any other retailer with a faulty disc, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your postal address and we will be happy to send you a replacement.
The thrillers of Edgar Wallace, one of the twentieth century’s most successful crime novelists, have been widely adapted for fi lm and television – the most memorable of which is the Edgar Wallace Mysteries, made at Merton Park Studios in the first half of the 1960s. A noir-esque series, it updates some of the author’s stories to more contemporary settings, blending classic B-movie elements with a distinctly British feel. Unseen for decades and freshly transferred from the original film elements specifically for this release, all 47 films will be released over seven volumes on DVD.
This volume includes top-notch performances from Alfred Burke, Bernard Lee, Patrick Cargill, Jack Hedley, Patrick Allen and Zena Marshall, and features scripts by Philip Mackie, Robert Banks Stewart and Lukas Heller.
