‘Laurence Anyways’ One Day Screenings Across Picturehouse Cinemas 4Jan2013

Award-winning film LAURENCE ANYWAYS (15) will be screening for one day only across the Picturehouse chain on Tuesday 8th January 2013, courtesy of Network Releasing. Directed by Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan, this epic love story chronicles the relationship between a man and woman (LAURENCE AND FRED) through the 1990s, in which time Laurence undergoes a gender change. Thought-provoking and stylishly shot with nods to Akerman, Almodovar and Ozon, the film also dazzles with outstanding music featuring artists including Fever Ray, The Cure, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and Scottish composer Craig Armstrong.

LAURENCE ANYWAYS made its debut at Cannes Film Festival 2012, with the film’s leading actress Suzanne Clement winning the ‘Best Actress’ award in the Certain Regard category for her role as Laurence’s supporting girlfriend, Fred. The film also won the Queer Palm at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.

Dolan’s epic relationship drama also stars French actor-musician Melvil Poupaud as Laurence (A SUMMER’S TALE) and Monia Chokri (HEARTBEATS).

LAURENCE ANYWAYS is Dolan’s third film, following the award winning I KILLED MY MOTHER and stylish HEARTBEATS.
