WORLD IN ACTION was, undoubtedly, ITV's flagship current affairs programme. Lasting four decades (from the 60s to the 90s) this Granada-produced programme was fearless, trailblazing and hard-hitting, choosing subjects that other programmes would not dare to touch and regularly getting into trouble with the ITV regulators and - at times - the Government. To mark ITV's 50th anniversary, Network are proud to present twelve of the best editions of WORLD IN ACTION:

31/07/1967 MICK JAGGER Personal appearance of Mick Jagger after the quashing of his jail sentence for being in possession of drugs, in which he discusses his attitude towards the society in which he lives with four leaders of the establishment.

11/12/1967 END OF A REVOLUTION? Portrait of Bolivia and events leading up to the death of Che Guevara and the trial of Regis Debray. Includes exclusive sequence on Guevara's death.

18/03/1968 THE DEMONSTRATION WIA covers the anti-Vietnam war demonstration at Trafalgar Square and Grosvenor Square, London, 16 March 1968.

28/09/1970 THE QUIET MUTINY John Pilger Award-winning documentary on the growing mutinous feeling among the American troops posted to Viet Nam.

05/04/1971 THE MAN WHO STOLE UGANDA WIA visits Uganda following the military coup in January 1971, which deposed President Milton Obote, and brought Major General Idi Amin to power.
