Local news reporter Chris Hawthorne (David Roper) and his wife, Fliss (Diane Keen), live a simple but contented life with their twin babies and few material possessions, punctuated by occasional visits from Fliss’s mum, Connie, and their eccentric neighbour, Austen Tweedale.
