Ealing Films' exciting horseracing drama features a memorable performance from Bill Owen as a jockey with a troubled past. Sam Lilley, a champion jockey who has lost his license, trains young George – a keen racegoer with ambitions to ride professionally. But when George gets his first race it comes down to a photo-finish – and Sam has bet heavily on the boy winning.
