Directed by BAFTA-winner Philip Saville from a powerful script by Frank Clarke, The Fruit Machine stars two virtual unknowns (Emile Charles and Tony Forsyth) as a pair of gay youngsters who go on the run when they witness a murder. Presented in its original 1.66:1 widescreen aspect ratio, The Fruit Machine also stars Robert Stephens, Clare Higgins, Bruce Payne and Robbie Coltrane.

After one fight too many with his dad, Eddie runs away from home to join his friend Michael, a streetwise hustler. When the boys witness the gangland murder of Annabelle, the transvestite hostess of the Fruit Machine Club, they fear for their lives.
